1958 Ward La France
 
 

Notice to E-Bay staff. The sirens and red lights are not working or are inoperative. Our last fire truck listing was canceled for that reason. This truck was manufactured in Elmira Heights, New York.

This Ward La France is in outstanding condition for a 63 year old vehicle. It does have some surface rust in some spots that could be easily cleaned up. This truck has the optional good looking fender skirts.

It has a 4 speed transmission with a 2 speed axle. Turn signals. The speedometer shows 14,445 and we assume that it is correct. The Oklahoma tag and title are current and shows mileage exempt. It has flat glass and three of them have cracks that can easily be replaced.

 

The bumpers are painted and the distinctive grill is in good condition. The tires are high tread Dunlop extra heavy duty 900 X 20. It has the ultra vision cab that is an industrial work of art.

This truck is 27 foot long. It has several storage compartments with one ladder and several hoses. The exhaust is good.

It has a flat head 6 cylinder engine with 12 spark plugs. The Magneto is for one set of plugs and the distributor for the others. Twin Zenith carburetors with oil bath air cleaners. We have the original crank as an auxiliary starter. This truck would be excellent for restoration as a parade vehicle. We have had interest to have it painted pink as a cancer donation.
